Five Warsaw-based schools were invited to take part in workshops about Irena Sendler and the concept of rescue. In total 200 children attended these sessions. The week culminated in a joint lecture from the charity’s Chief Educational Consultant and Elzbieta Ficowska, who was rescued by Sendler’s network and established the “Children of the Holocaust” organisation in Warsaw. The project was a huge success and was a fine example of close collaboration between The British Embassy and a Non-Governmental Organisation supported by the British Government.
